Samson was tied to a post at the shelter/rescue where I volunteered. He was so skinny and his teeth were broken. He had a bare rear end with a tumor the size of a tennis ball sitting on his hips. He had the saddest eyes.

He was there about three weeks. He kept looking worse. He wouldn't push his way to the food dish when another dog took his portion. I couldn't stand to see him deteriorate, so I decided to foster him until he was in better health.

He had the tumor removed, heartworms treated and lots of food and vitamins.

Four years later, he's still here.
