Welcome to Pet Talk ashleyweaver02.I'm so sorry to hear that you're having such a difficult time in introducing your new cat to your resident cat. Actually it's usually much easier to introduce a male cat to another male cat as long as they're both neutered. I have 4 male cats and have only had one problem many years ago in which I had to end up returning the cat. I've always found that it's much easier to introduce a younger cat or kitten to your cats. Also sometimes a cat just isn't good with other cats and no matter what you do it needs to be an only cat. There have been a few people on Pet Talk that have had major problems and had to then rehome their new cats. I hope that you won't have to resort to this but since Shadow is so scared of Topper right now you may always have a problem.
Some people have tried feliway spray or plugins to help calm their cats. Others have tried rescue remedy which you put in their drinking water to also help calm them down. Sometimes these things will work and sometimes they won't. I'm sorry that I'm not much help but hopefully some other Pet Talker's will reply with some better ideas. Some cats will never get along and will learn only to tolerate each other. My cats Storm and Cirrus don't like each other but they've never had a cat fight that drew blood either. If they did I think I'd be forced to rehome Cirrus since Storm was here first.
Good luck and please keep us updated.![]()
