Sorry I haven't gotten the pictures posted but unfortunately the rescue business is always busy. We now have a chow pup that was left at our shelter door that had been burned by some type of chemical or scalded with hot water. He has burns on his neck chest and tongue. He is burned to the skin and it is doubtful the fur will grow back. I have been bathing him with special shampoo, keeping his burns clean and he is on antibiotics and being watched closely for infection. Despite the abuse he is a very sweet guy and just like Hope, he has not once growled or tried to bite me. Just when I think I have seen it all something like this comes along. We also have an older female lab mix that had been hit by a car or abused and has part of her upper lip missing as the injury was never treated. She can only eat canned food. She also has scars on her chest. She had a large mass on her chest which has turned out to be an advanced cancer. So guess where this one is going??? She will be coming home with me soon to live out the rest of her life and be loved and have a home. I keep hoping with each new year that the abuse will stop or at least lessen. I can only say that the people who do this to animals will one day have to answer to someone greater than us all. But in the meantime, I will continue to do all that I can for them.
