At least "Smurf" is a good girl or boy name!


Reminds me of a poem I learned years ago (It was in one of David Hope's Fireside Books - 1971 I think) - BTW I have been hunting for the poem for years, so if anyone has the complete poem PLEASE post it....

It was called "The name for the cat",and one verse said:

The name should be short, and easily heard,
Preferably just a one-sylable word;
Jill, or else Sooty, remember the sex
Call a Tom "Mary" his spirit you'll vex
