I spoke with the vet today and he felt it would be best to just watch Hope. The type of cancer she has has a low to medium chance of recurrence and spreading to other organs of her body. He also said that the tumor she had was hormone based and a lot of the time spaying an animal will stop new tumors from growing. Given her age and her diabetes this was his recommendation. I am going to take her to the eye specialist on Monday to see if her cataracts can be removed. It would be great if she could have some of her sight restored! Wouldn't it be wonderful if she could see all the people that love her and all of the beautiful things around her!? Even if it is for a short time she deserves it!!! Although the news if somewhat hopeful I am still saddened by it all. I know the time I have with her is not going to be enough. But on the other side all that she has given me will be with me the rest of my life and her story will be an inspiration to many people in the future.
