I talked to my daughter tonight who just moved into a new second floor apartment. I got a little pissed at her. I told her to PLEASE, PLEASE do not open her windows more than her cat Callie's nose so this doesn't happen to her. Her comment was "Mom, I'm not as high up as you are and am going to open my windows so Callie can enjoy the fresh air." I yelled at her and told her to do whatever she damn pleased, but don't call me crying that her cat is missing when and if it happens to her. I tried to explain that I too, thought it could never happen to me. She is so stubborn and pig headed. Now she's mad at me, but I don't care. I was trying to get my point across.
I can understand so well you're upset! A friend of mine has lost her cat the same way last year, but even when I'm telling this to people they tell me it's neurotic of me not to let my cats sit in an open window! Some people will never understand!

I'm so sorry you have to go through this and that you've found another cat in the trap, how disappointing was that!

Please don't give up hope!
