I seriously love Micah. I can tell from the pics alone that I could love that little boy forever and I am so happy he's feeling well. You need to help out the vets over there and tell them to keep up-to-date with nutritional and behavioral methods.

Yeah Micah!!! I, too, have heard so many wonderful things about raw diets for both cats and dogs. Kisses to you Micah and hugs to you Kelly! Praying for continued go health for the both of you.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS! At the risk of sounding overconfident, I knew a change in diet would turn things around for darling Micah! A vet never heard of this approach??? It seems to be a pretty obvious connection to me!!! What are they brainwashing them with??? Oh yeah, the pet food companies have a huge say in what is taught at vet school. How can these intelligent professionals fail to question business MOTIVES and the sources of their information! Gaaaaaaaah! Ugh, so many pet foods are just made from crap(py ingredients)!

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU KELLY, DAVID and SWEET MICAH-BOY! When (if?) I make it to veterinary school you can bet I'll supplement my education with other classes/lectures/texts on nutirition. Food is so important! It's something we put into ourselves EVERYDAY and we depend on its nutrients to make us function!!! Good, balanced nutrition and high quality ingredients cannot be overemphasized.

This is such great news! Kelly, please keep us updated as Micah starts to show his real personality --- now that he is finally in a comfortable and healthy state of being.

Many thanks to Roxyluvsme13 & k9krazee for my great new siggy!!

    That is great news.

I have a question - of what exactly does a raw diet consist? I'm very curious especially since it has worked so well for you.

Also, love your new sig picture. I think Basil and Jazz were separated at birth.

This is such great news, Kelly! I am so happy that the diet has worked for Micah! It will be really neat to see how much his purrsonality will develop now that he feels good! It's great to hear he is interacting with his siblings and the fosters too. What a cutie head! Give him some kissies for me

Awww....thanks guys. It really is a huge weight off my shoulders, I've been worried about him since we first got him in March. (Wow, has it only been six months? It feels like he's always been a blessed part of our lives.)

    jazzkat,
Go to www.felinefuture.com and check out the product that I buy for Micah. I use that powder and salmon oil capsules from them and mix two pounds of fresh, organic boneless, skinless chicken thieghs and breasts and then add 1/2 a cup of pureed chicken livers. (that is the worst part, by far...but I'm getting used to it)

I also mix in a fatty acid/vitamin granule powder in one of his servings that I got from Drs. Foster & Smith. I wanted to be totally sure he's getting a balanced, healthy diet.

Something I learned at work made me really happy! My vet (and employer) DOES offer titer tests (test the amount of vaccinations in the blood) so Micah wont ever be over vaccinated again. I'm so happy. I think I may take him in for a blood test this month to make sure he's doing OK on his new diet. I don't want him to be deficient in anything.

My vet doesn't charge me the office visit and gives me 60% off everything else! This job really has been a huge blessing for me...and will be for the furkids as well. Thank God.
    ...RIP, our sweet Gini...

Wonderful news that you can get the titer tests free of charge! Ugh, over vaccinating, don't even want to get into that topic! What a great job (and job benefits) you have Kelly!
Can I come over to Cali and take your spot?
