This is so sad. Sugar was the cat I read about first when I joined PT and I think you did a great rescue there, Liz! I'm SO sorry he had to go! At least he didn't suffer for long.

I'll keep you and Suger in my thoughts and hope he'll now be playing with his friends at the RB.

Rest in Peace, sweet Sugar!! We will miss you!!

Oh Liz that's so sad and my heart is aching for you. Take comfort in knowing that Sugar loved you as much as you loved him and he's waiting for you at the RB. RIP sweet Sugar and please watch over Liz for us.

    Hugs to you Liz.

Oh Liz, what a shock!! I am so sorry to hear about poor Sugar!! I hope the vet is able to give you some answers about how such a healthy cat could go so quick.

RIP, Dear Sugar. Make Buddy show ya round the bridge.

    Dear Liz, I'm so very sorry for not having seen this thread sooner. Logan told me about it earlier today, and now, this very sad news HIs illness was so sudden and still, inexplicable. I know you feel so stunned right now. Perhaps the Dr.'s inquiry will give you some answers. I'm so, so sad for you Liz. Sugar loved his Mommy so and I know he knew how very loved he was by you. Rest peacefully, beautiful Sugar. Liz, I'm keeping you and Sugar in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Sandra {{{{HUGS}}}

Dear Liz, I am so sorry for your loss! What a shock. This sounds as if he had eaten some poison! How horrible. May he rest in peace. My feelings are with you.

I talked to the Vet a little while ago & he said the autopsy
showed all organs healthy, a full stomach & partialy empty
bladder. Some "mottling" on the heart & kidney, but nothing
that doesn't come with normal ageing. He had no broken bones,
no trauma evident anywhere & his spine & vertrabrae showed
no breakes or injuries. The Drs best quess is antifreeze poisoning.
He also said it could be a poisonous plant, or poisoned meat.
Sugar was not a roamer & always stayed within two yards of our
house. Sugar was a very affectionate kitty & I'll miss him very
much. I still am kinda numb & in shock about this whole thing.
The Vet said Sugar did not run a temperature last night, in fact
he registered a little below normal. I am totally floored by this as
I never saw him sick at all till I came home. I don't know what to
think, but I feel so bad for Sugar to die alone without me there.

Oh dear Liz, Sugar's sudden illness and death reminded me of a friend of mine's beloved dog Tucker who also suddenly got sick and died - it turned out he had been poisoned, probably someone put out poisoned meat for coyotes, as my friend lives in a pretty rural area. Tucker will probably be among the first to greet Sugar when he arrives at the Rainbow Bridge, as he liked kitty-cats, and knew they were his friends.

Phred is right, Sugar knew most of all that you loved him, and he'll be with Buddy to greet YOU some day at the Rainbow Bridge yourself.

Poor sweet Sugar, he'll live forever in your heart, and in all our memories of your stories of him.
