Here are some of the breeds that are used for seeing eye work aka guide dog work:

1. German Shepherds
2. Labs
3. Goldens

There are other breeds that aren't used as much. Those 3 breeds that I mentioned above are the 3 most popular breeds used.

The first American guide dog was a German Shepherd named, Buddy. She started it all for the guide dogs in the united states.

There are severel places you can go to for guide dog places. There is http://www.seeingeye.org/ and http://www.guidedog.org/ and http://www.guidedogs.com/ .

There are several other places. A good search engine that you can go to to find guide dog sites is http://www.google.com/
