I have been keeping an eye on the breed rescues. The only difficulty I have found with that so far is our cats. Many of the dogs needing rescue say they don't do well with cats. Orrrrr....on the other side of that coin. One of my cats is very ummmm...lets say...emotional. My vet and I agree that when we are ready for dogs we should probably start with a puppy so that Deirdre (the emotional cat) can adjust with a youngster animal better than an adult. But you never know what circumstance can bring into your life.
