Thank God Bourbon got through surgery. I took him in at 8:00 a.m. and they said to call at 11:00 a.m. if nobody had called me. When I called at 11:00 a.m., they said he was still in surgery and they would call when they were done. So from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., I was a basket case. I called at 1:00 p.m., I guess the nurse had gone to lunch and forgotten to call me, he was coming out of anethesia. When I went to pick him up at 3:00 p.m., he was a little woozy, but OK. They still really don't know what's wrong. They left the bone in; it's still attached on the right side. The left side of the bone has a hole in it and under that hole in his sinuses is some "irregular tissue". No nodule to remove (which I believe in vet's terms is a tumor); he just scraped some tissue and sent it off to the lab. He said it's definitely in his sinuses which is why he has blood coming from his nose sometimes. I'm just so glad he made it. I was really rethinking the surgery between 11 and 1. Did I really do the right thing? But now that he's made it through, I'm glad I did it, even though yesterday was one of my worst days ever, I think. At least we should know what it is - the results are supposed to be in Saturday or Monday. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. I felt them with me yesterday.
