We emptied one of the bedrooms the night before the move and set up the room for the cats with litter tray, bed and food/water. When the removalists arrived we put the cats in that room so they wouldn't be disturbed (or run out the open door). Once everything had been delivered to the new house, we went back and got the cats. They made a bit of noise, but it was for their own good, and they got BBQ chicken for being so well behaved
