MapQuest says it's just about the same in Time and Mileage if you go through INDY or take another route that runs you through Kentucky and then Cincinnati.
Given the two choices - the more northern route thru Indy is probably the better choice. Cincinnati is a larger city - so the Interstate passing either thru or around Cinci will have you in congested, city traffic for a longer time going thru Cinci. The city traffic period to pass thru Indy should be less.
Matthews, MO to Findlay, Ohio, via Indy - is about
9 Hours of driving...
Covering 550 miles.
