This thread does have me so upset. As a volunteer at this shelter, they could have given you the consideration of holding the dog until you talked to your husband. Also a quiet sensitive dog like this may not take well to rowdy children. I would asj them to put a special note in the file somewhere that if this dog comes back, you should be called immediately. Maybe they will even change their minds before the dog is picked up. This could be a situation of her wanting it just because she saw you wanting it.
