Update on Carrie....

She is now at the shelter in the ICU unit. I have been force feeding her for a week now and she just wouldn't eat or drink on her own. She was on her SECOND bottle of Amoxicillin. Her congestion is so bad that she can't smell anything. I called my friend Cathy this morning and she said to bring her in.

I asked Cathy honestly what was going to happen with her. She told me that they gave her medicine to increase her appetite and have put her on a nebulizer to help her with her breathing. They told me to call the shelter on Monday for a progress report. She reiterated what Heather said that sometimes when older cats get displaced like she did, they just get depressed and refuse to eat or drink.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she gets through this. At least I know that she is in good hands and are giving her a chance to recover from all this. Hopefully she'll get well and be able to come back home where she belongs.

I'll keep you posted.
