I work with North East All Retriever Rescue. www.nearr.com We place ALL types of Retrievers and Retreiver mixes, but our territory is limited to New England. We might be able to place your dogs with our group (a very wonderful one, I might add!) but that would require the family coming up at least to CT for temperament evaluation. Check out our website. Our dogs are very lovingly cared for in experienced Retriever foster families until adoption. We also take GREAT care in placing each dog with the most appropriate family; we do extensive screening...it is NOT first come first serve. There are some great groups by you though I am not familiar with the names listed below. I would encourage the family, though, to make sure they do screened placements to assure the pups go to a responsible, commited, Retriever EXPERIENCED homes. Many think they want a Retreiver (so popular) but are not familiar with the energy level, exercise requirements of the breed. And if you can believe this, many families surrender them because they are irritated by the fact that they want to be with you everywhere/all the time! I too wish they would contact a Lab rescue group or Retriever group. We (nearr) would be able to place them together
I'm going to contact our board members to try and get some info. fast about groups in the PA area. They have been known to work miracels. I REALLY would like to see these two kept together!!
