Thinking of Sheba and hoping that she is finally start to recover from whatever it was that had her tummy so upset. I gave the dogs pig ears yesterday and I noticed that Ripley made a couple of "poopie" stops in the yard instead of just his usual one stop. Maybe she just ate something that temporarily upset that delicate tum tum.

It sounds as though Sheba may be on the mend. Riley had it for 2 days, and then went completely back to normal (well, normal for him )

Keeping Sheba girl in my prayers!!

Oh, Karen, have you thought about hardwood floors ?

    Update:

This morning, I took Sheba's temp, and it
    was almost normal.
I could tell Sheba was feeling better.
She ate most of her breakfast, and
tried to get Rocky to play with her.
(she even gave him some kisses)
But she still did not pass any stool.
I spoke to the vet via phone, and
he told me to give the pills a chance.
That it would take time for her to build
    up some stool again.
Sandra, when you posted, it made me think
    maybe she had intestinal obstruction.
Before we went to the vet on Wednesday,
I noticed in the carpet their were 2 hair balls she
    had passed.
I wonder if thay might be the problem?
    She is constantly licking/cleaning herself.

Tonight, Sheba ate all of her dinner and finally
    an hour later she pooped.
(notice fur it in it again)
    The medicine must be working.
It still is a very loose stool but at least has a little form to it.
    (not like a watery milkshake)
She is on 10 days of antibiotics and 20 days of
    stool hardner.

Pam, I give all the dogs slivered pig ears last weekend.
    I thought about that too.
I wish I new what caused this.
She is not a spring chicken anymore, and I
    worry about her.

    Thanks again "everybody".

    Karen

I'm glad that you got her to the vet and that's she's on meds.

I don't think that hairballs would very much ahve anything to do with it---but I can't be sure. Isn't it characteristic of akitas to be very clean?

I hope that it was just the pigs ears, so then it would probably only be a temporary thing. But would the affects of them last that long? Since you gave them last weekend, wouldn't symptoms have shown up earlier?
    I've been BOO'd!
