What we all need to realize is that pets are NOT barbie dolls. They are not disposeable as such. When you take on a new pet, it does not matter what is wrong with them, or how long we have had them. We are still RESPONSIBLE that they get the care that they need, whether it be medical care, food, exercise, grooming, whatever.

The other thing I am hearing here is (maybe not in this specific term) "Oh it was JUST a rat" "We only had him for a day" Man, I hate that!!!! It was a living creature for crying out loud!!!
