Why didn't you get a loan for the rat?

That makes no sense on your parent's part. That's basically like saying, "Oh we just had this baby, We're not going to take care of it's medical needs because it hasn't been in the family too long."

it is totally differnt, this isnt a BABY we are talking about, you cant simply buy a baby. you are getting out of line, I dont think A rat should be compared to my parents babies lol. sorry but it sounded funny.

so, you're saying your animals aren't as important as a human life? Because that's what I got out of it.

I don't think that she's saying that, I think that she's saying that her dogs and other animals that have been with the family for a longer amount of time mean more to her family than something that she had just got. It doesn't mean the life isn't that important.

Why are we talking about this? Even I'm caught up in it. Please, let's just talk about bernese mountian dogs. Jynnelle's dad wants to know more about them and see if any have personal experience. Also, another option he is considering is the Swiss Mounitan dog because they live longer, and he'd like a dog that has a longer life span than 6-10 years or whatnot. Any other dogs that act alot like those breeds, please mention. He really loves the swiss breeds.

It doesn't matter how long the animal has been a part of the family, they should be as equally important to the family.

Her parents can't change their opinions from what they are. They shouldn't be forced to love an animal they've had for a day just as much as they love their children that they've had for 16, 14, and 10 years. The rats was as important to Jynnelle as would be her children, because to her that was her child. And people here told her what was best for it, and so she brought it back. Just because she loved it, doesn't mean that her family should love it. My mom hates ALL my animals. I guess she is cruel, heartless and mean because she loves me more than my pets.

I never said her parents should change their opinion.

I think it's wrong that some people don't love their pets as much as their children. I love my dogs and would much rather have them than a child any day.

I know she may have loved it, what if she love her human child (when/if she has one) but her parents didn't? Does that mean it shouldn't get medical help if needed, just because her parents don't like it? Maybe that doesn't apply to her situation though, since it seems animal children aren't as important to her parents as a human child is.
