    Hey Binx,

It's good to hear you're now home with your momma. You
were certainly a very brave boy today sweetie. Sleep well
little guy and I hope your Drs are working super hard to find
a solution to the tooth problem. If I could, I'd give you a little
gentle hug & tender kiss on your sweet sleeping face.Hope
you're feeling better soon baby boy.

Binx had a pretty fitful night sleeping last night, didn't touch his food AT ALL, and wouldn't get up this am. Now, the not getting up isn't a huge huge difference, as Mr. B likes to sleep in, but, I really had to encourage him. We went on our usual walk, albeit at a snail like pace. He whined a couple of times, and tried to get to his rear end, and he has, eh, a loose stool. Boo hoo hoo.

We went to the park, but, I hadn't brought any ball, cause I didn't intend to let him play. He really didn't even want to walk down the hill- which is odd, cause, he normally cuts up the whole time, once I take him off lead. So, we returned home, sadly.

Now, I put 1.5 cups down, and he tasted a morsel or two, but, is back sleeping. He hasn't eaten since Monday evening at 8 pm. My 81 pounder is going to waste away.

I will come home at lunch, and if he hasn't eaten, I might give him half a frosty paws.

I don't really like the whining- cause I don't know what he is trying to tell me. Is he in that much pain? Discomfort?

One of the things the vet suggested was that I purchase a Water Pik (for him, not me). That way, I can work on keeping the recesses of his mouthie-mouth clean. The vet suggested just letting him chew on it...then, hook it up to water. Did the vet even consider the logistics of this? Water all over the house? It should be pretty dern funny. I do have electric outside...so, maybe I will open up a dental office? Wonder if I can get one of those cool chairs? Course, Binx might need a couch, not a chair. I will get some of those postcards to mail out to Binx, reminding him of his next appointment? I don't want to be a lawyer anymore...I am going to become a DENTIST! Open wide...

Johanna your sense of humor is going to get you through this! As I was reading about precious little (OK maybe not little) Binx and starting to worry about him not perking right back up to his normal healthy self, your post immediately made me feel better as I neared the end.

Your vet sounds like he is really trying to get a "handle" on all of this and so we will wait and trust that there will soon be a diagnosis and Binx's 'big snip' ouchie will heal quickly.

I think Binx might make an excellent dental patient and you are not too old to change careers and begin your new life as doggie hygienist. One question - how do you make them spit into the little bowl?

Pam, I rather think Binx could spit any where he wants at this point rest & relaxation and lots and lots of comfort for the dear boy. Do know how many true prayers and hugs are with you both Johanna? He's a trooper and will amaze and astonish us all with his come-back, I'm just sure of it.

    Too funny Laurie!

Johanna, it's so wonderful that you have a great sense of humor, it makes the stress a little easier to handle.
A water pic hu? What a wonderful idea, but I agree with you after seeing all his slobber.....I'd set it up outside too!

We'll still be keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.

Spitting! That was my first thought too. I can just see Binx in his dental chair with that water thingy running at his side and you asking him to spit!!

We sure seem to have a lot of babies on this board that are in varying stages of treatment and recovery.

Binx - hope you are feeling better soon.

Johanna, you might look into yellow slickers and boots for your new found career!

    Cataholic,

Hope Binx is feeling a little better this evening, poor baby.
He kind of "got it" at both ends.LOL. His mouth must be pretty
tender still. Hope the healing goes quickly & he's back to normal
soon. I love the fact that Binx likes to sleep in. How'd you get
so lucky? LOL. Hugs to Binxy & the Kitties.

I agree, you have a wonderful sence of humor, and
I had a big smile on my face as I was reading your post.
(even though poor Binx doesn't have a sence
    of humor right now)

Forget about being a dentist, how would you like
to smell the bad breath and look at rotten teeth and
    gums all day.
    Hope Binx is feeling better.
