During the summer he put on alot of weight, mostly fat, cause he eats almost nothing during the winter. I turn off his heater so he can go into a simi-hybernation. a full hybernation would mostlikely kill him, & not hyernating would cost me way too much $$ in food & heating his pond, & he gets cranky when he's not simi-hybernating, & boy do I mean cranky. He gets all hissy, doesn't snap, he'll hiss open his mouth to hiss louder & then I close his mouth & he'll just hiss... Axle's hisssss is very different from a cat or a snake. Its more like deep breathing, people can do it to through our noses.
