I bet your vet's office would let you just run by and stick Rocky on a scale at no charge!? Then they could tell you if he is overweight or not, and if so ... recommend a good diet food for him! You are right that neutered males do fatten up a bit ... but they tend to get less active and overeat too!
He may just need a cat formula for less active cats now.
