arthritus(sp)???

my dog beanie is 6-7 years old. i got him from the shelter. he's a pomarianian mix. he is not alowed on the carpet because he pees everywhere. will he get arthritus(sp)? how old are dogs before they get it? do all dogs get it?

I doubt all dogs get it..My was like 12-13 when he got it I think maybe even older..I'm don't think its the same for all dogs though

No, all dogs do not get it. There are also great medicines that can help a dog cope with it. My dog had it for probably around 5 or 6 years (I think she got it when she was around 10 or 11), but with her meds she was able to live a happy & active life

will him running around all day help him not get it? do i need to feed him a special kind of fod to help him not get it?

Theres really not much you can do to prevent it...but to treat it, there are meds you can give to relieve pain and stuff like that.
