I can't say if dogs actually suffer any irritation from Poison Ivy...
But I can say with GREAT CERTAINY that they can rub *IN* poison ivy and then VERY successfully transmit said poison ivy to the unwary Hoomin!!
My Dear RBShepherd Casey had a grand ole tyme one day playing in a fence row - which I didn't know until it was WAY too late - had a nice collection of poison ivy growing amid the other flora and fauna...

After giving her a routine {{{Hug}}} Rub & Petting
session --- *I* began to *itch*...
and ITCH and SCRATCH and ITCH for days!
After gettin worse instead of better - and asking everyone I knew "where" it could be getting on me from...
a friend asked if Casey could have gotten into it?
THAT's when I learned that Dawgs can get the sap form the poison ivy plant on their coat/fur - and spread it to anyone that touches the Dawg!
She got a thorough washing in strong dish washing soap laced with something else I've now forgotten;
And I bathed in every Poison Ivy remedy I could find!
BEWARE! You can't *see* the poison ivy on their coat!
