Way to go !!
Congratulations, may this be the first of many years of no newborn kittens born on site.
Now if you can just convince idiots to stop dumping cats there.....
sorry, i am a little slow, what does TNRing mean?
That's exactly right! Our park colonies are now not reproducing, are maintaining at about 40 cats, we feed/water, and they all seem happy. Here's a link to some of the cats there:Originally posted by PayItForward
TNR = Trap Neuter Release
This ends up with sterile community of cats. No more unwanted kittens. Plus a stable group will prevent stranger cats moving in.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

[B]What great photos but it makes me a little sad that they don't have homes.
Though I guess that they are mainly feral and can't be rehomed ?
You do such a good job looking after those cats.
Yes they are all feral! We have rehomed those that were adoptable. But as you can see, these are well taken care of (none of them look like they're lacking for food).
Actually they probably have about the best there is for a feral situation. They are in an area away from traffic, fenced in away from the public, are being fed, neutered/spayed, and have been provided all kinds of covered protection from weather etc. Here's just one of many: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...5/fd66564d.jpg
Like you, I wish they could all have a loving home! Thanks for your compliments. We really enjoy taking care of all these babies.

Kim Loves Cats and Doggies Too!
Some nights it's very hard to leave. We do stay and talk with them and try and get them to come to us. They all have a name and there are some that are our favorites!Originally posted by kimlovescats

Hey K&L...I've changed my name from Dr.D where I met you initially to lotsocats here. Thanks for the link to this forum.
I am amazed that you have no kittens at the park this year. How relieved you must be. That is such a powerful reflection of the years of hard work you have done with the park ferals.
Bravo!!!
Dr D (lotsocats) WELCOME!!! It's so good to see you on the board. You'll like it here!Originally posted by lotsocats

I'm glad the TNR program is working so well. My thanks to everyone who helps care for these cats.

You have all the right to brag here: the cats in your feral colony all look so self-confident and healthy -I am sure they have the best feral life that is possible -and it's a good life![]()

Aw thank you so much! They're about as spoiled as you can spoil a feral. We love them!Originally posted by Barbara
