This was the last foster I had, a perhaps, shiba/jindo/shar-pei mix. He was about 6 years old, and I drove 2 hours (one way) to pull him from a kill shelter.

I loved him so much! He pretty much saved my life one night. He was about 52 pounds, so a bit bigger then your purebred shiba, but he defeintly had the personality of one all the way, but he was affectionate, ALWAYS ever so affectionate.
He's got a new and good home now.
I haven't fostered since him, I would love to get back into it, but I'm waiting until we are pulling a little bit more money into this household.

I have worked with different rescues, and different shiba rescues, but the one I work with the most now (mostly through correpsondance and transport, not that any dogs ever come through this little town of mine!) I basically email with people looking to adopt, matching them up with the best dogs, answering any questions and informting them about the shiba traits!

Formally the Colorado Shiba Rescue, now the National Shiba Rescue/Shiba Angel's Rescue.

We are always looking for more knowledgable shiba people to help out, specially those whom can foster and/or pull from shelters!

Your Kito is gorgeous!!! I love the red and creame males myself, my fiance fancies the black and tans. We want another dog again so bad right now, but it's just not the right time finacially.
