yes.
Click on My Aim > Edit Perferences >
In the new window click on Sign On/Off (menu on left side)
Under Sign On you will see a check box for Start AIM when Windows Starts. Make sure there is NO check mark next to that option.
Click Apply > Click Ok.
Next.
On your desktop...
Click Start> Click Run >
Where it says Open: type > msconfig > Press Enter
In the new screen which pops up click on the Start Up Tab
In here you will see a list with check boxes, find the one for AOL Instant messanger. IF it is there (might not be) remove the check mark.
Click Apply > Click Ok > Click Exit Without Restart
When you restart your computer next time, hopefully it should not start up AIM.![]()
