Hehehe, good idea, get him good and drunk. I don't know about the area you live in but do you live by a no-kill shelter? This could be the answer because no-kill shelters are selective in the dogs they take in. They have to be. They take in the most adoptable and healthy dogs. Shelters that kill can be a different story because they have to take in every animal that comes. There are some sicknesses that spread around a lot of them but not every dog is sick. Harley had kennel cough when I adopted him but that was easy to cure. We actually just waited it out for a few days. I think something to do is take him to the shelter and have him spend time with a mixed breed. Maybe he will change his mind about them. Do you know why he only wants a pure bred? Good luck in convincing him. I'm sure you guys will find a dog that you both will love and cherish forever.
