Viorica, I don`t know all that much about plants & stuff but I also don`t think your plant is a violet, but I could be very wrong because it is a wide group (Viola -Violaceae). Anyway, I have had a look in my book for Bluebells = Hyacinthoides, syn. Endymion (Liliaceae)! It says that there are only three in that group, two of whom are very similar, English Bluebell, Spanish Bluebell (looking at the pictures mine is a Spanish one, not English!) anyway, there is no picture of the third but the description goes like this;
H. italica. Spring flowering bulb H15-20cm S5-8cm. Produces a basal cluster of narrowly strap-shaped, semi-erect leaves. Leafless stem produces a conical spike of many flattish, star-shaped, blue flowers, 1cm across.
What do you think?
Anyone else have any idea what Viorica`s plant is?![]()
Pam, yes, Bob is very good in not digging anything up. In fact he doesn`t do digging, but he does do eating!..with a vengence! See all that ivy I have? I have to watch him all the time with that and other stuff! He is such a bad dawg!
Lastly, to everyone who complimented Bob, he says Thanks very much, and sends waggys tails and lots of slurpy kisses!
