I like to fish! Some of my happiest memories of my childhood are those of the Saturdays I spent in the "swamp", fishing with my father and grandfather. I was their "little fisherman". Helen has had some similar experiences with my dad and her dad. What a great, quiet bonding time for kids and their fathers. I completely understand your willingness to go along with your dad, Uabassoon.

I grew up in a family of hunters too. I only hunted once, with my first husband, and mainly went because he wanted me to so I could see our Lab in action. The birds were safe with the two of us hunting. Chuck, the Lab, got so tired of waiting that he started retrieving other people's birds! Ha Ha!!

My feelings about fishing and hunting are mixed. I frankly didn't like the bird hunting and was never much help when it came to cleaning the birds or the fish. But I eat meat, including fish. But I also admire people with convictions strong enough to prevent them from doing it. How confusing was that?
