I compleatly agree with you Kingrattus, it would be nice if county run animal shelters worked on the same guidlines as most breed specific animal rescues. But have you seen how little money is put into animal control in most counties? Most of the time, animal shelters are way at the bottom of the proritiy list for proper funding. Where I live, one guy runs the entire operation and he gets very overwhelmed at times. In situations like that, it would be impossible to do background checks on everyone and even if you did, how would you do any follow ups?


As of right now, my local animal shelter is not allowed to adopt out pits or rotties. They are immediatly marked to be euthanizied.
I would like to see the rule appealed here, but Tennessee is lways the last state to change anything.
