Well I am husbandless (at least through tonight), so I am up to my old habits of staying up too late. But I'm glad I did so I could read your update, Sue. It's funny how we become attached to certain dogs and I truly believe it is because so many of us have been here for so long now, learned about each other and our pets. You are no exception and neither is Killian! And we are making new friends every day here too!!
I'm wondering if the prednisone might be helping his appetite, even if it isn't helping the liver. I know that one of the side effects in humans is increased appetite and thirst. I guess it is the same for our dogs too. I think Killian will forgive you for skipping the Walk-a-thon this year. You know he will be ready for some love and playtime when you get back!
Karen, you are so right about their age. My precious Kaycee was nearing 12 years old when we lost her. It was far too soon for us, especially since Helen and I had only had her for 5 of those years. But then there is Murphy, our wonder dog, who is 13 and going strong! And there was Chuck, our Lab, who lived to be 15! I can only hope for that much time with Honey and Lilly. I just wish for longevity for all of them, so we can continue to enjoy them to the max, every single day!!!!
Thanks for the update, Sue.![]()
