Wow.. reading this thread has made me realise how blessed I am! When I found out Bassett emergency bill was going to be over $900, I freaked out. I called my dad and said, "can I use your credit card?" (None of mine have a limit that high). He said, "give me the name of the vet and it's taken care of. It has to be paid, so let's just do it." It never even occured to me that he might say no. Even when his visa company called him in a panic, stating that someone had charged a $900 bill at a VET in CANADA (he lives in Oregon) he laughed it off and said, "Yes. My daughter's cat is sick and she needed my help." The person on the phone didn't quite know what to say, because she was so touched.

Every time he and I chat on the phone, he always makes sure to ask, "So how's our Bassett doing"
