Happy Birthday Jackie!!! Isn't it amazing the things your remember that the current generation will never know about? My son is 11 years old. When he was 4 I gave him a record box of old 45's of kids fairy tales. I turned my back and when I came back into the room he had tossed them all like frisbee's into a basket. I shreeked and asked him what he thought he was doing. He said he thought they were frisbee'sNeedless to say they were all scratched beyond using them again.

His age has never watched Black and White TV, Never had only Network TV, (What did they do before Cable) or used a 33 album. They have always had CD's and Walkman's. They do not remember the day when there wasn't a McDonald's around the corner or (are you ready for this) there were only PF Flyer tennis shoes. He thinks I'm crazy when I tell him bread was 10 cents a loaf or we went to the movies for 25 cents. He really thinks I've lost it when I tell him I got a whole bag of candy for 25 cents. We use to get two pieces of Candy for a penny at the corner store!!!!!
Life was sooooo much simpler when you were a kid. Even when I was too (I'm 41) but thank God one thing has never changed..... The unconditional love that a pet gives. That is the same today as it was forever. Thank God we are blessed with their love and may we be half the person that our pets think we are!!!!!
Have a joyous birthday and please forgive me for going off on a tangent. It's just apparent you realize what a blessing life is and that's it's too short to waste. We need to teach the newer generation to appreciate the small gifts that come our way and not take them for granted.Birthday Blessings and many many more to come!
