Thanks, everyone!!!!

When did all of this happen? Did you just quit?
LOL ..... "just quit" ... that cracks me up. Everyone who has ever smoked and quit or tried to quit knows there is NO such thing as "just quitting." Did you know nicotine is reported to be more addictive than heroin? I believe it!

Anyway ... is what I did: I have tried to quit "cold turkey" many times in the past and just couldn't do it. So this time I decided to cut WAY back before stopping altogether. So I started out going an hour between cigarettes. I did that for two days. Then I went an hour and a half between cigarettes, for two days, etc. I got to four hours and a half hours between cigarettes, and was miserable. So I finished off the pack I had, and quit. I smoked the last cigarette at 10:00 pm Monday, March 17. So ... four days now. I bought some Nicorette gum, but I didn't use it. I think cutting down to only four or five cigarettes a day before totally quitting really helped.

And, I've been staying really busy and running around, and also staying away from things I used to always smoke while doing. If you noticed I hadn't posted much over the last three weeks or so, that is why ... it's really hard to be on the computer and not smoke. Same with reading. But it's getting better. Today was much better than the last three days, I hardly thought of smoking at all today.

Anna, if you really want to quit, you CAN do it, but it has to be when YOU are ready to quit for YOU. You can't quit because someone else wants you to, you have to want it for YOU. I have never been able to quit before, and I have tried many, many times. But this time I just decided to do it for ME, and I did.

Some people can do it with no help when they are truly ready, for some people the Patch works, for some Nicorette, for some Zyban. I would not hesitate to try any and/or all of these things to help you if you need it. Anna, feel free to PM me if you want to.
