Yes, my husky is 10 months and I've noticed an increase in shedding with his adult coat.

I would recommend using several types of brushes on your dog.....what I do is brush with a slicker and an undercoat rake at the same time, one in each hand. The slicker loosens the coat, and the undercoat rake gets the stuff underneath. I also use a shedding blade occasionally, it's quite useful...especially on the backs of the rear legs, where fur really accumulates. I also think if you don't take the dog to a groomer, give him a good bath with a high quality shampoo and conditioner. It's quite helpful to condition his coat really well, then brush him while he's still wet with conditioner.
