there doesn't seem to be a change in behavior, just that they are very chirpy no, they are not in a cold area. they are on a shelf (hard to explain) right next to the TV in the livingroom. we keep the cover on the cage at all times (not covering the front, just the sides) because a draft comes in every so often when we open the door to take mickey out. our houses' temp. might be low today. i don't know. i'll put it slightly higher. thanks for the help
