I just bought some last night - actually stocked up. Jewel had it on sale for something like 3 boxes for $2.00 - which is really cheap. I'm so glad she liked it.

Moo loves milk, ice cream, yogurt, you name it, he'll eat it. I haven't tried Catsip yet (never heard of it till now).

I found the filters at Petco with all the other brands of filters. They come 2 in a pack and need to be changed every 60 ro 90 days. When I first bought it I THOUGHT it was a Drinkwell. But then I realized that Drinkwell's including the reservoir is over $60. I can't afford that right now that's why I chose the other one. Works just as well, even though the water reservoir is smaller than the Drinkwell.

I forgot to mention that they also have ice cream for cats in the frozen food isle!!!

Near the regular ice cream I presume? I'll have to check that out since ice cream is another favorite of T & P's. Peanut gets so bold with ice cream she will stick her face right in the bowl and start licking. Tubby will do that with anything, but Peanut only does it with ice cream or Key Lime Pie.....yes, Key Lime Pie. I couldn't believe it either, but she is absolutely crazy about it. Ice cream I can understand, but Key Lime pie??!?!?!

Thanks for the tip Donna. I'll be checking out the ice cream aisle next time I'm at the grocery store.

    Lut,

That's the same identical fountain I just bought. I like it because it's nice a quiet. The only one I've seen drink out of it is Moo. I was afraid that they wouldn't drink at all if I picked up the water bowls, so I left one big stainless steel bowl down with water just in case.

  6. That's the same fountain I have. I'm proud to say this is one "battle of the wills" I actually won with Edwina. I had both still water and fountain. Finally I just took her bowl away.

    Oh sweet victory!

Ya know Sara, that's a great idea. I think I'll pick the one bowl I left out and see what happens. Thanks!

We have the Pet Mate Fresh Flow water fountain and were at PetSmart last weekend and saw all the other products they make. We're going to get a litter holder...its kind of like a diaper genie for babies... Has anyone seen that? Here's a link: Petmate

I saw that littermate at petsmart yesterday, it looks like a nice thing to have, have you bought it? do you like how it works?
I was interested in it but it was $39.00! mmaybe I can get it sometime but not now. for now I will just have to empty the stuff into bags and keep going to the dumpster LOL

I have a water fountain , I bought it a couple years ago, I have not had it in use for a long time, I have been meaning to get it out again for Muffin, since she will NOT drink from anywhere except the faucet, and I told my mother if she put a bowl of filtered water there ,Muffin will drink that, and she does. so there is a bowl of water in the bathroom sink LOL.

does anyone know where I might find a cordless fountain? do they make them? I'm almost sure I remember seeing one in a catalog several months ago and I wanted to get it but I lost the catalog in the move. I just hate to have the cord with the water...
especially with crazy Cassie, she plays with everything!

also- the vet told me that if is bad for cats hearts to drink water that has salt in it, like from a water softener.

My Dad had a Littermaid when they first came out over 7 years ago. I was not impressed with it at all. The waste container was very small and filled up fast, you can only put a small amount of litter in it or the rake won't sift. For cats who like to dig to China, this is not good. They may have improved it over the years, I don't know.

I want to try the rolling litterbox. But I can't find the super huge one they sell. With the regular one there's not much room for the cat.

When I said put salt in the cats water, I meant a tiny pinch. I doubt that would harm them.

As far as cordless fountains, the only ones I've seen are plastic. I had one for a couple of year. You will the reservoir and then put the well on top. Flip it over and the water trickles down. It only fills up when the water level gets low. They're okay but I couldn't use it anymore because my cats were getting kitty acne from the plastic.

My boys love the fountain. Plus, I can tell that I'm scooping more often, so that means they're drinking more. Very healthy. I use filtered water and clean it about every week and a half.
It's the drinkwell fountain. The directions say to clean it ever 2 weeks, but with two cats, there is just too much hair to wait that long.

About catsip- its a favorite at our house. I highly recommend it. The grocery here sells it for about 75 cents.

A friend of mine buys the baby kitten milk and freezes it in little tiny tiny ice cube trays. Then gives her cat one tiny cube a day. It's like kitty ice cream, I suppose.

    2kitties,

I also give my cats filtered water. I have a PUR filter on my kitchen faucet. It's definitely paid for itself. I also keep a 6 gallon jug with a spout in my fridge filled with the stuff.

I didn't mean the pinch of salt was going to harm your cats, I meant that continuous use of saltwater is bad for them, just to let you know. I didn't know and wanted to share the info.

This thread has been interesting to me because I don't have a fountain.

Rascal gets filtered water from the fridge - and he just loves cold water and ice cubes. He gets a new, fresh bowl every day.

But having a fountain would be great - have to find a convenient outlet in my old house though.

I keep a small trash can and a plastic bag near his litter box. I have been using the Arm & Hammer Super Scoop - but he still makes a mess. I liked the "digging to China" comment. Yup, sounds too familiar. And is that stuff heavy!!

Thanks for the fountain comments everyone!
