I'm glad you found something that works. I know my dogs definatly are not prefect either. Josie howls at everything when shes outside ALL the time. Zeke is kinda nippy with my feet too, only he doesn't bite hard. Still working on it

Do I recall you having a simular problem be fore? Could this be a continuation?
I don't have a biting problem with Merlin, He just hates the ups guy , I have tried everything It's not just the same guy. So to prevent any harm to either the guy or Merlin I just keep him in the bedroom when he arrives (almost evey day). It's the major problem he has. I'm very lucky he was socailized well as a pup by the whole family.
Good luck on the problem. Maybe you should get the book on how people and animals interact. I just finished reading. The title, Pack of two.

Nebo ALWAYS tries to jump when I have Reggie or Smokey in my arms!! He's getting a little better though, as I say "uh-uh" if he even tries to and he'll stop. He always still tries though.
What is it with this? Whenever I'm holding Maddie or Murph is
when Oz is the absolute worst about jumping. I can't figure
out why he gets so nutty over me picking them up. He's not
really all that keen on being held by me. He'll only sit still for
me petting him for short periods. So I don't know why he cares
about them being held so much. And between training and
playing with him, he's not lacking for attention either. Tiz
    puzzling.

Thanx everyone. Well I sure do feel better now that I know Chewy isn't the only bad dog out there. We worked on it last night and I took of the lesh and ran and he chased me but didn't bite! I can finally walk in my own home!! I'm the hapiest person alive. LOL well, I'm calling that stupid trainer who I hate today, I need to know what she thinks, and if she lies to me one more time I swear.

I also will be calling the trainers Emily suggested, thank you! And I will try ouot the pet store! Hopefully this weekend. You'll have to let me know when they hold those ice cream thigns, that would be sooo fun!

ps: Corrina- Yes Chewy is agressive and I posted like 2 days ago this problem hopeing someone could help and you guys gave me a sugestion and I tried it but I didn't work.

Ash, I think, as others have written, that a really good trainer/behavourist could help you a lot to get to grips with Chewys biting problem, that and what you already know and are doing should win out in the end.
As for perfect dogs, lol, my Bob sure is not one! And, unlike Chewy, Malone, Nebo and others, he is no pup/youngster still, he is nearly five years old! Unlike the other dogs I have had he has just proven to be a difficult dog for me to train properly......I won`t go through his faults or I will just depress myself!

Just keep at it Ash (as I know you will.) Love to you and Chewy.

Chris and Bob, and Ebby the cat of course

Abbey is the same exact way!! If I pick Kito up (and I do it all the time, because it cracks me up how I can hold him like a skin baby, on my hip), she goes crazy--biting at his tail, biting at me
I think they're all just nuts sometimes!!

I hope you don't think that all 20 of ours are perfect all the time. Sheesh...I have to yell at most of them a couple of times a day!! Some of ours are still not housebroken so we clean up messes incessantly, don't think that's not frustrating. We have the dogs that fight (just like siblings) and we have to break it up...most times a simple knock it off is sufficient. We have food aggression problems (that are rapidly getting better). Our dogs jump. Sammy is an escape artist. A lot of them don't come immediately when called.....should I go on?? lol I think it's just part of having a pet. Just like people, you have to take the good with the bad. I love our dogs with all my heart and wouldn't get rid of them for anything, but, they do drive me nuts sometimes.

    One word. Jealousy.

Kia will lay around not bugging me but the minute I hug someone or pick up at cat at my parents house, she goes nuts, jumping up, grabbing my arm with her mouth to try and pull me away.

As soon as I stop hugging the person or set the cat down, she'll lay at my feet and show her belly with a look that says, "ME!! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!"

Well, I know you are talking about my perfect dogs, of course. Hahahaha NOT

When we first adopted Shiloh at 9 months old, we discovered that she was a nipper. Being that she was a large GSD, those nips hurt!! Just as I was lining up a behaviorist at $200 for a session, she suddenly solved the problem herself. She started picking up an object to present to us instead of nipping our hands when we came in the door. Also, a very loud yelp! would work when she nipped. She would stop instantly. (It worked for Killian when she nipped him, I figured it would work for us too). Haha Things that she does are showing that she was probably removed from her mom and siblings too early. She wasn't sure how to act.

Hope Chewy is doing better now!! Good luck.

Have you tried putting treats in your fist and sort of have a tiny bit sticking out the opening where your thumb and pointer finger close? Make it so he has to gently work the treat out and give a 'gentle' command. If he bites too hard, do the ouch and close your fist tighter so he can't get the treat (If you pull your hand away, it will be more tempting for him to grab and mouth at it). If he is gentle, praise and loosen your grip so he can work the treat out.

You may have already tried this, but just in case you haven't, it usually works with the shelter dogs I use it on!
