Sweet A.C., I am so happy to hear of your new life. May your previous owner be reborn as something small and weak. It might teach her some compassion. She certainly needs it. May your new life bring you all the happiness and love that you so richly deserve.

AC, Cat of the day for 2/17/03

    Hello Everybody!

I appreciate what you all wrote regarding my cat, AC. I hope you can remember. This was a while back but I just found out today that AC made Cat Of The Day. I was so happy to find that out.

AC is one of 16 cats. She will be 11 in May. There are two cats here that are older than her. Our cats range in age from almost 10 months to almost 13 years. We love all of our cats dearly.

You all said some very nice things about AC, as well as myself, and I really appreciate it. I am so glad I rescued AC because she has paid me a million times over for that. She is such a sweetheart and a great mouser too. Occasionally a (suicidal?) mouse will get brave enough to come in here and it doesn't stand a chance around her. Mice can be very destructive to wiring, etc., so I'm glad AC is such a good mouser. Of course I don't let her eat them!

Anyway, sorry for rambling on. Take care and thanks again.

    Don't be sorry...

    ramble, ramble

    and scramble

    A.C. some eggs.

    16 cats.

    Wow!

    16 cats.

    What a grand life.

    I have 16 fish.

    In fact,

    I have more fish

    than that.

    But five cats,

    and five cats only,

    live with me.

    16 cats.

    Wow!

    But I am not jealous,

    No, how could I be?

    When the black cat

    lives with me?

    He doesn't live with you,

    but does live with me.

Oh, Sherry, I'm sorry you missed the day your A.C. was posted, but I'm so glad you found out eventually (not too much later)! A.C. is so beautiful and couldn't have found a better home!!! It's been so nice "meeting" you recently! Like I was mentioning earlier, before you the person I knew with the most cats was a lady I used to work with who had 11, and now you've really topped that!!!! 16--WOW!!!!! I admire you! I'm so glad you finally got to read everyone's posts about your precious baby!!!! I see today's cat is also a Maine Coon from Maryland, and for a second I thought it was another one of yours--wouldn't that've been something!

Frostfrog, you have more than 16 fish--wow! Fish are unique and pretty (and photogenic), but I've never had any (yet). I'm not sure if you saw the kitty on Feb. 10th of last month, a beautiful "Ragdoll" boy named Ganesh from Eagle River, Alaska... I don't think you posted that day, but I know at least one poster asked if it might've been YOURS. (??) Just thought I'd mention it because I didn't want to think of anyone else missing their baby's nomination on COTD!!!!!

    HAPPY DAY TO ALL!!!!!

It was great to see AC again. What a big fur family you have! Would it be possible, Paul and Karen, to e-mail COTD winners a reminder a few days before they appear?

felinefriend - I will have to go back and see that Eagle River cat, but it is not numbered among the five that live with me. I travel a great deal and often when I do, posting on COTD is more than I can manage and basically what I miss, I miss, and seldom back up to catch up.

Speaking of which, my next trip will begin at the end of the next week and will take me to AZ - first to Sky Harbor and one night in a nearby hotel, and then to the White Mountain Apache Reservation, where we will stay for several days.

I always try to photograph cats whereever I go, and I contemplated seeing if I could photograph your friends as I recently did those of Kohala and Sandy Frost when I was in San Diego, but probably my short time in the valley will be so rushed and chaotic that I would not be able to pull it off.

Yes, the fish are photogenic and I would highly reccommend them. I have two tanks - 55 gal and 29 gal.

FrostFrog, what a very thoughtful gesture how you offer to photograph other peoples cats!!! I know you've mentioned that before, but I didn't realize you've also done Kohala's and Sandy Frost's!!! Wow!!! I would be delighted to have you professionally photograph my babies, BUT I fear you would only get their scared faces or the ends of their tails as they made a made dash to hide under cover, ha,ha!!! I was curious when you first talked about this how you get other people's cats to stay calm for someone they don't know... or maybe it's just mine that get so skiddish around other people. Do yours get this way too? I wish mine wouldn't do that--even my brother in Phoenix has barely seen them. Actually, we had ONE cat only that was so sociable to everyone, but unfortunately that was Tommy, the baby we lost.

You must really miss your fur-babies (and fish) in all your traveling, although I admire all the travels you do! I think this adds to why your writing is so wonderful and you have interesting perspectives on many things! I always look forward to your humorous posts, and many make me laugh out loud!

Speaking of travel, I too will be at the Sky Harbor Airport, in two weeks from this Sat., which is when I'm going to Ohio to see my dad and family there. I hope your weather will be PURR-fect when you travel out here! I think Ken and I drove to the White Mtn. Apache Reservation a few years ago (he works on the Saltriver Pima Indian Res right by us). You can email me with any Arizona questions, or anything, at [email protected] and here is a link to my web site of my cats (and misc.) which I just updated about a week ago: http://home.earthlink.net/~kjalen/Ginny/CatsLife.htm

Do you have a website or portfolio of all your wonderful cat photos and other photography, travels, etc. I'm sure everyone would love to see that too!!! So nice corresponding with you, FrostFrog! ...more later... FelineFriend (Ginny)

I do miss them when I travel - terribly. I will communicate with you further on your email. Thanks for the link to you cats - I will check them out. I have a website that is under construction and if I ever finish it, I will post the URL. Or maybe one day I will just throw a few cat photos up on the mac site that I am a member of and post that.
