He's still young. His attention span is still probably not to high, I think if you work with him sometimes without treats he'll learn that way. I make mine do tricks sometimes without treats and and sometimes they get them. I know Jo used to NEVER listen to me when we were outside unless I had a treat. She'd rather run off and play, but I'm so amazed now, she listens so well outside now. Just keep working with him Maybe try doing it without sometimes and keep doing it till he does it, but maybe only a little at a time?
