I remember in the 70's when there was a gas rationing in our country. You could only get gas on certain days and the lines were so long. I hope we don't have to go back to that! Then the price of gas was about 45 cents a gallon so as far as inflation is concerned, the price of gas is still a reasonable commodity at $1.45.

We use to get a loaf of bread for 10 cents and now we pay $1.99! People don't seem to complain about that as much.
