Bo gets mats, arrgghh. Usually on his back, and when he gets one, he gets a bunch all at the same time. I swear they form overnight, his hair is so thick I might miss them at first.

Brushing him at this time of year is not fun - he is so staticky he shoots off lightning bolts.

I use a fine-tooth comb, and hold the bottom of the mat so I'm not pulling at his skin, and then work it wth the comb, and I try to separate it with my fingers. I have to be really patient, sometimes it takes more than one try to get them out.

So far this year he hasn't gotten any mats, knock on wood. I hope we can make it through the winter...
