My cats scurry away from the brushings, but I have to keep their nails in check. My cats are motsly lap cats and they knead on your entire body and those nails REALLY dig into your clothes and skin, so I have to keep up with the clippings. It's hard to clip Boo Boo's nails because he has many hidden nails which are painful to him if not clipped. I wish Minnie would let me brush her because she get tangled and matted too easy with her long coat
