Beautiful Phoebe!
Dearest Phoebe, what a beautiful lady you are! You are absolutely stunning in these great photos, and thank you for sharing them with us. That colorful grey-brown-black Tabby and white fur is so pretty and looks so soft, and what a sweet face you have with those lovely big pale-green eyes. You're so relaxed out by the garden and then having a snooze on the soft blanket, and how nice to see your dear young friend holding you! You both look so happy and content. I wish I could reach through the screen and across the ocean to Essen, Germany to pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved friend will pet you for me .
And what a nice story you have to tell! You are originally from the South of France, and then your dear new family adopted you and brought you to their home (your new home!) in Essen, Germany. You were very tiny then, and you had a different name. Your new mom named you Phoebe, after a character in the TV series, "Friends." Long ago I had a cat named Phoebe, and I have many fond memories of her, full of love.
Now you are a grown-up lady of seven years, and you have the most delightful personality! You sleep a lot but not in the morning. You know when your mom gets up, and you go to her. You also watch TV with her! When your mom or dad speak to you, you reply with "Miauuuuuuu." Sometimes your young friend pretend-fights or plays with you. You and she are best friends! You don't like other cats or dogs, but you do like rabbits. You have a dear brother who still lives in Southern France. You are lovely, sweet, and beautiful. You all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Phoebe, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear young friend and mom and dad and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats. I'm sure your brother in France is rejoicing with you!

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
