Karen, please take your time to relax and get some rest and energy! You have had an awful lot going on for you lately. Take good care of yourself and Kermit and Lulu and all your family now.

We're sending loads of loving good wishes and warm healing energies your way.

And we'll wait for Pet Talk, whenever it gets back!

Last night we had a horrible scare with Dusky - he was suddenly unable to walk, and was crying in pain all night. A trip to the Emergency Vet again, we were very worried.

It turns out he has Lyme disease, which may have been lurking in his system for a while now, as he has a flea collar, and has been dewormed, etc., flea(and tick) sprayed, and our yard is pretty tick-free because of the guinea fowl. But at least that is curable, and he's on meds now. Poor lovey pup!

Loving good wishes and prayers and warm healing energies are being sent from us for dearest Dusky, that he heals up safely and comfortably. Be well soon, sweet pup! Karen, please give him some extra gentle pets and lovies from me (and some treats if he likes them right now, too).

Thank you, I drove through the remnants of Ida to get him from the hospital last night. They were all sad to see him go, as everyone fell in love with him.

He had gotten the Lyme vaccine, but not the booster shot, so that's how it snuck through. The clinic said they are seeing a lot right now, there was an elderly Golden Retriever in the same shape as Dusky when he was admitted.

When I left this morning, Dusky and Lulu were both sleeping comfortably on Kermit. Lulu was sooooo glad to see Dusky when he hopped in the car last night!

Thanks for the update, Karen! SO happy knowing Dusky's Lyme is treatable!!! Rest easy and get well soon, precious Lulu and Dusky!!!

Good to hear you were spared the horrific flooding and tornadoes that devastated the Northeast last night, Karen. We received, non-stop, 3 hrs of blaring tornado warnings/"take cover" alerts on our phones last night; spent 3 hrs in a walk-in closet with JT and the furkids, 12 a.m.-3 a.m. We received 4 inches of rain in one hour, 7 inches total. 15 already confirmed dead NYC and NJ due to the flooding. And a huge F3-4 wedge tornado hit south Jersey, leveling huge homes. Unbelievable.
