To dear Rodney King's parents~

My eyes filled with tears, reading your love filled tribute, learning your ruggedly handsome, sleek and shiny, golden eyed boy, Rodney King, has earned his angel wings.

What a lucky boy he was, having been rescued by you in his time of great need. Rodney truly was one of a kind: beautiful in looks, gentle and loving in spirit, brimming with purrsonality! I smiled from the inside out, reading "Roddy's Ritual," his nightly blanket routine, capped off with a nighttime snack! Like us humans, even animals have their own special way of de-stressing.

His most memorable habit was what we came to know as "Roddy's ritual" - he would climb onto his blue fleece blanket on the ottoman, pick up a corner of the blanket in his mouth and, kneading with all four paws, turn in a complete circle (always clockwise). When he had completed the circle he would either jump down from the ottoman and head to the kitchen for a snack or drag his blanket to another location in the house.
Endless thanks to you for welcoming Rodney into your home and hearts, doing all in your power to heal him physically and emotionally; providing him with 5 wonderful, happy and carefree, love filled years. And when his time came to leave for the Rainbow Bridge, again, you were there for him, holding him close and sending him off on his journey with his heart filled with love, enough love to sustain him until that joyful day when you and he are together again.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful boy with us, just a sampling of your cherished memories; giving us the chance to pay tribute to your wonderful 5 years of shared love and companionship; honoring him for the EXTRA special boy that he was. As the saying goes, sometimes the best things in life come our way when we least expect them, and that describes your Rodney to purrfection: an unexpected treasure, your Cat of the Day, EVERY day.

And Rodney, sweet baby boy, run and play happily, healthy and whole again with all of our fur angels at the Rainbow Bridge, that peaceful, sun drenched place where the paper mache ornaments are there for the batting, where the catnip flows freely and treats are the order of the day, and comforting, blue fleece blankets are never out of stock!
