Dearest Fauvette, what a beautiful Cockatiel you are! You're absolutely stunning, with those gorgeous, colorful feathers and that sweet face with the lovely big dark eyes and the look of your beak as though you're smiling (and you probably are!).
And what an amazing story you have to tell! Your dear people were introduced to cockatiels over 15 years ago, taking in Grisou and Jaunette, who had been abandoned by their previous owners. Then Grisou passed away, and Jaunette was pining away without a companion. Your people adopted you, Fauvette, who had been living in unspeakable conditions in a "pet shop."
You came to your true Forever Home with your true Forever family! Jaunette took you under her wing, so to speak, and she shook off her melancholy, becoming youthful and happy again for several months. And then she passed away, and you were a lonely bird who still had a lot to learn about a happy bird's life. Your people went to a breeder and brought back Calio, only a few months old, very lively and chirpy. And now, thanks to his influence, you're chirping and crying and even singing and playing a little! And since you're older, you're also a steadying influence on him! You both know how to remind your people to feed you snacks or bring your cage out to the garden so you can chat with your bird friends. You and Calio and your people all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Fauvette, on being chosen Pet of the Day! We hope you and your dear Calio and people and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
