Dearest Speedette, what a beautiful Eastern Box Turtle you are, and what a great habitat you have, with bedding you blend right in with. And what a nice story you have to tell! Your dear people rescued you when you were tiny, smaller than a quarter. You've lived with them ever since, some seventeen years now. You have the most delightful personality. You react to your family's different voices differently, and you're not bothered by the cat or dog or the noises they make. You're quite calm, and nothing bothers you enough to make you retreat into your shell. You're a very special member of your family, and you all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Your dear person has a good message for us all: Turtles and tortoises don't generally make good pets for just anyone; they need a lot of special care. Please do your research before you decide to adopt one!

We wish ALL people would investigate proper care/nutrition for ALL pets before buying/adopting one - all of the small pets we've adopted from the Humane Society were previously bought by adults/kids who didn't know anything about their needs and neglected them! Sending best wishes for a continued happy, healthy, fun, safe life, Sweetie!
