Hello, precious Penny! Happy Cat of the Day!This is my cat Penny, adopted from the East Norfolk branch of the RSPCA, in November 2017. She was rescued from a multi-cat household and was unsocialised, and had been overlooked by many visitors to the cattery before I met her. She didn't want to interact with me at all while I was there, and once home, hid under the table for several weeks, where I couldn't look at her. After five weeks she touched me with her tail, a week after that she allowed me to touch her. She has continued to grow in confidence, very slowly, and now sleeps on the bed with me, wakes me up for breakfast by sitting on me, demands to be stroked and lies down for it, and welcomes visitors (cautiously). Her favourite toys are screwed up pieces of paper which I throw in the air, and string.
It has been hard work at times, waiting for her to trust me, but so worth it when she lies down purring while I stroke her and rub her face. Rescue cats are the best!
What a gorgeous tuxedo lady you are! Your fur looks so soft to pet! I like your sweet face)
You had a difficult start, being rescued from a multi-cat household and then going to a shelter. Your person adopted you, and allowed you to adjust on your own time. After several weeks you gave tail-touches and allowed yourself to be touched in return. Now you sleep with your person, request petting when you are ready, responding with a purr; and provide a very special wake-up each day! You are getting used to welcoming visitors cautiously. You play with paper tossed into the air, and with string. Best of all, you are a loved kitty!
Happy, happy Cat of the Day to pretty Penny!
